New clay, new challenges!

Well, I recently switched from Premo/Sculpey to Cernit. I read all kinds of nice reviews about Cernit, and a coworker of mine who has been working with polymer clay since before I was born swears it is the best out there. So I was won over. Unfortunately I didn't think about the fact that it might have some differences when baking. Such as any side the item is resting on will actually melt.  Oh I was sooo sad when I saw a whole batch of items with some flattened leaves. I really really loved some of the designs. Ah well they are still lovely, and I did still post them up on etsy.com at a discount. Hopefully someone will still love them!

Another mild annoyance with my claystuff - well not the clay items themselves but with the selling of them - if I want to be really confident my images are correct color-wise I need to edit them on my desktop computer. This really is inconvenient since I am on my laptop most of the time. But my laptop screen is slightly blue tinted - no its not how I have the settings - I do know how to adjust some things, its just how this model of computer is. After I ordered the laptop and it arrived, I noticed the problem and looked online. Sure enough others had complained about the same thing, and I cannot get the settings to compensate correctly for the display problem. For like 90% of people out there, this would not be a big issue. But it is rather disappointing for me.

Today I really want to get some items posted that I have been holding on to for a while, but the images need edition, and of course I'm on my laptop away from home. Soo lets just hope I can guess the colors! Green is the hardest! Maybe I'll wait on posting the items that have green on them...

After much neglect....

MaevinWren.com is back online. I'm changing to a new layout, so not all pages will be up yet, soon I hope!
